"I love the Sunsafe golf shirts and wear them all the time. It's quite hot in Thailand but wearing the shirts helps a lot with keeping me cool."
]]>Spieth carded seven birdies Thursday en route to shooting 6-under 64, one off his career low at Waialae Country Club, and is tied for the early lead with veteran Chris Kirk, who is winless on the PGA Tour since 2015.

The new Master's champion is the talk of the golf world after this stunning victory. But what makes the new champion tick?
1. His Wife Used to Caddy for Him
Justine was his caddy in the early stages of Patrick's career, including his win at the Wyndham Championship in 2013, his first win on the PGA tour.
2. Declaring Himself a top 5 World Player in 2014
After winning the WGC at Doral in 2014, he asserted that he was worthy of being included in the top 5 players in the world, despite never having played in a major.
3. He Received a Plastic Set of Clubs When He was Born
By the age of 9, Patrick was practicing all day, hitting huge laundry baskets of balls until he blistered.

]]>The international aspect of the Masters is something that has been overlooked by many, but this year there is an especially cosmopolitan field of entrants. That international focus was a large part of what founders Bobby Jones and Clifford Roberts were aiming for. There has been at least one international player in the field in all years of the tournament bar 1946.
Twenty three countries are represented in the tournament this year, but who is most likely to be successful from each country?

Will Rory's past come back to haunt him? The spectre of 2011 still looms over his Masters history and threatens to intervene at any moment.
On 2011, Rory states:
“I was 21, and I’d never been in that position in a major, certainly not at the Masters. The thing about a major—any major—is you have to prepare for it, all of it, as if it’s just another golf tournament, but understand that it’s not.
“Everything is different. The atmosphere is different. The preparation has to be different because if you just show up on Monday thinking you’re going to practice 18 holes a day you’re going to be exhausted on the first tee Thursday, because the practice rounds take six hours. You have to think ahead to get ready and then, if you have a chance to win, you’ve got to find a way to keep your mind on staying in the present. You can’t just say, stay in the present. You have to talk to yourself, have a conversation about your next shot, the next hole, the weather—anything but what might happen a couple of hours from that moment.”
He bounced back to win the US Open shortly after, showing his maturity and tenacity at a young age. However, the Masters continues to elude him.

It's been a long time since Vijay Singh won on the PGA tour, with 34 PGA tour victories to his name, the long drought he has suffered must have taken it's toll. This former inductee into the World Golf Hall of Fame won nine time in 2004, three in 2008, and had not won until his recent victory in the Toshiba classic.
His recent win by only a stroke finally broke his drought.
According to Singh:
“Every time I tee up here I put so much pressure on me that I have to win,” he said. “It’s kind of the wrong way to approach it. Like this week, I just went out there, just play and enjoy it. If you win you win. If you don’t there’s always next week.”
The win drought was not due to the fact that he has not been playing, as he has played a total of 212 tournaments since he won the Deutsche Bank Championship in 2008.
Vijay indicates that he will play more frequently on the PGA Tour Champions tour, with some additional time on the PGA Tour this year. Hopefully there won't be a similar break between his latest win and the next one!

Tiger has given glimpses of past form in his latest appearance, significantly improving upon his performance in the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas, where he looked unmotivated.
He finished 12th in the Honda Classic, which while not super impressive on the face of it, contained some impressive sequences of shots, with hole proximity of 29 feet 3 inches and a driving distance of 318.9 yds, placing him first and second in the stats respectively.
But will he be able to continue to improve, even if the rate of improvement is extremely incremental?
According to Brandt Snedeker: “I don’t see it going backwards from here,” “Only going to get better.”
Tiger's climb up the rankings has been explosive, with a jump from 388th to 149th due to his recent showing at Valspar.
On his upcoming appearances at Orlando and Bay Hill, Woods seems cautiously optimistic:
“I’m very excited,” he said. “Nice to get back.”

Hey sports fans, as the Presidents cup is on at the moment, I thought that an article that provided a quick recap of the history of the tournament was in order.
The Presidents Cup started in 1994, at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Prince William County, Virginia, USA. In the Presidents cup, the rest of the world (ex Europe who compete against the US in the Ryder Cup) compete against the USA for the prize.
Presidents Cup: Team Results
The Presidents Cup is traditionally not a happy hunting ground for the international team with the 1998 Tournament (won by the international team) and the 2003 tournament (which ended in a draw) being the only exceptions to US domination. The largest margin of victory for the tournament so far is 11 points, set when the US defeated the international team in 2000. The smallest margin of victory was also set by the United States. The US defeated the international side by only 1 point on two occasions, in both 1996 and 2015.
Presidents Cup: Individual Results
In terms of the most matches won, Tiger Woods has the record with 24 victories. Phil Mickelson holds the record of most matches played with 51, having played every tournament from 1994 to 2015.
Presidents Cup: Now
The US is already looking good after the first day, with most commentators seemingly assured that the US will romp home, it looks like it will take a big effort from the international side to knock the Americans off their perch. Im sure we all hope the internationals are able to make it competitive and that the tournament ends up being an exciting one in the vein of 1996 and 2015.

Skin cancer is the result of skin cells that have been damaged due to over-exposure to the sun. There are three main types of skin cancer:
Far from being a rare occurrence, skin cancer is a very common affliction which affects a large number of people each year.
According to the Cancer Council of Australia:

The prevalence of this scourge is why we have developed Sunsafe Golf Apparel with a UV rating certification of 30+. Many of the golf shirts currently on the market do not have this rating, and it's our goal to both raise awareness of the importance of sun safety and provide the tools to do so.
So, what actions should you include in your sun safe golf routine?
Sun Safe Golf Lifestyle: Actions to take
Taking the steps above will significantly reduce your risk of contracting skin cancer while you are out there improving your game. It's possible to have fun in the sun and smash it out there on the course while still taking care of your skin. You've only got one body after all!

I thought I'd put up a post about my thoughts with regard to fitness, as I'm sure that while some of us may not make the most effort on this aspect of our golfing lives, fitness is integral in the performance of any athlete, from pro all the way down to amateur level.
There's no question that the greats pay attention to their fitness, one of my personal favourites, Greg Norman spoke about his personal regime in the Get Fit edition of Australian Golf Digest August 2017.
Golf Health Regime: Background
Greg Norman ruled golf for 331 weeks and is a two-time British Open winner. He now spends many hours on his business interests but still plays regularly. Many of the readers of Golf Digest may be around the age of Greg (no comment on myself) but Greg reckons it's never too late to work on strength with flexibility being one of the most important elements of the golf swing.
Golf Health Regime: Workout Steps
Try the workout that he uses at least 5 times a week! Or at least a couple...
It consists of:
Good luck. Follow this regime 5 times a week and you're guaranteed to see some improvement in your strength and muscle stamina. Now for the rest of your game...
